QUEENS SCHOOL OF JAZZ & CONTEMPORARY MUSIC

 

Our vision is to gather, heal, restore, and revitalize the community through the pursuit of excellence in jazz learning and performance.  To that end, our mission is to serve affordable access to public jazz performance opportunities through the big band and combo workshops and master classes taught in a mentorship driven environment, all led by an impressive array of local jazz masters.  In memory of jazz saxophone guru, Arnie Lawrence, full tuition scholarships are being awarded to many students from local middle and high schools.  Moreover, the availability of adult performance workshops and early childhood jazz learning classes makes this school a crown jewel of jazz learning as well as a new jazz hub for the Queens community.
